  1. Darn! Your video was too long so they removed it :-(

  2. I know...fixed now as a two-parter!

  3. What's On My Wheel is my favorite segment of the podcast. You inspired me to become a spinner. I taught myself to spin in May on a drop spindle, then bought an Ashford in June. I participated in Tour de Fleece in July and spun 28 ozs of fiber. This month I am getting a Hansen electronic Mini Spinner.

  4. I love the What's On My Wheel segment the most. I have been spinning for a little less than a year, and I love to see the wonderful things you are spinning. It also really helped me when you were reviewing your Spinolution Bee, which I had been hemming and hawing on whether I wanted to get one. Now all I have to do is save up!

I love seeing how much you've gotten done on the assorted projects that you are working on each week. It reminds me that if I work on something...it might actually get done!

  5. I've really enjoyed seeing what you're spinning, especially the shots of the Bee. I'm fascinated with the travel wheel and am contemplating saving to get a smaller wheel for myself in the near future.

I also really enjoyed the travel episodes when you were either at Spring Fling, or one of the other fiber events you've attended. Since I've been away from the US for a couple of years now, it's been fun to see your take on the festivals that I can't get to right now.

  6. I enjoy seeing what you're working on, whether it's knitting or spinning. Even when you struggle with something you don't like. I also appreciate that it's all you, and mostly knitting or fiber related. The stories about where things are going like the baby blanket are fun, too.

  7. love the fact that your videos are just the right length!

  8. Happy anniversary :)
I discovered your videoblog just some few weeks ago (it came highly recommended) and now I have to have a fix every week!
I think your knitting, though interesting! that is not the most interesting for me ... but your spinning is. Wouldn't you like to make small 1-3 mins segments on how to use a wheel and spin and what new to the wheel should consider important and focus on? How to pick a wheel, how to pick wool, why, where, how - I would love to see that here on your blog :D
And if not, I'll be back next Thursday for my shoot ;D

  9. Happy Anniversary.

I love so many things about Round the Twist it is hard to list them all but I will go with the top two.

    1. A really regular knitting vidcast. Although I really like knit2together their videos do come out very often. I like the fact that this is a once a week deal because video casting is so well suited to knitting so we can actually see all the great FOs and yarns.

    2. The spinning segments. I am not a spinner and don't intend to be as I don't want to take any time away from my knitting. But I love learning about spinning and seeing the results. I guess I am a spinning voyeur.

Anyway, I love the show and I am so pleased you made to the one year mark. Great job!

  10. Congratulations on keeping it going for a year!

I love the fact that it is such a regular podcast - you've really stuck to it and you post when you say you will, which is brilliant.

I enjoy when you review yarn and books -especially ones that aren't in the UK yet.

The odd Phoebe cameo is always lovely too.

I also liked the Spring Fling posts.

I have no negatives at all....just please keep on casting.xx

  11. I love how you sip on your coffee and share with us the flavour! It feels like we are buddies sharing a coffee discussing our knitting obession!!!I also like the casual format.I too love Phoebe.I always wish the episode was a little longer but that is just selfish on my part.Do not change a thing. You have the tone just right. Thanks for sharing yourself with us.

Happy Podversery. I always look forward to Thursday morning when we, you and I, have coffee together.
I enjoy your segments about spinning. I probably will not get a wheel, but I fantasize about it.
    Keep it up, Susan

  13. I wait anxiously for your podcast every week, and love seeing all the new stuff that you've been knitting and the progress that you've made on existing projects. Seeing what the knitted objects look like on the video podcast makes me want to cast on my own versions immediately!

Congrats on a year of podcasting, and keep up the great work!

  14. I love seeing what you are spinning and especially what you are spinning on Beatrice. I have been on the fence about the Bee for a while and with how happy you have been with spinning on it, I think I am sold on getting one. Love the podcast, and I can't wait for each episode to come out. Keep up the great work - Happy One Year Podiversary!

  15. Hi - love the spinning information and seeing the Bee.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I really enjoy seeing what your spinning as well as watching you make your way through the Cookie A. Sock Innovations book--makes me want to try to work through the book as well even though it's very intimidating:)

Love the video podcast as well, it's a nice change from just listening to all the others!

  17. I love the podcast! I watch it Thursday mornings on my iPod while I get ready for work. Everything just feels very real, even when it's not going quite right for you. I love being able to see what you are knitting. Plus even though I'm not a spinner, I love watching your process. The little tidbits about your life (like the Off clip-on or describing the cabin) makes me feel like sitting with a good friend once a week.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Happy Anniversary!! I always look forward to Thursday mornings when I can sit down and see what you've been up to the previous week. Podcasts are wonderful and I listen to several but it's so great to actually SEE what you are working on. Although I'm not a spinner, I do thoroughly enjoy the spinning segments as well. Who knows, some day you may convert me.

  19. Happy Anniversary!

I think my favorite thing that you've done is not try to stick within the confines of what YouTube dictates--I was so pleased when you started splitting your podcast into segments because you had more to say. And I love to ear what you have to say.

  20. Hi, Carin! Happy videcastiversary! I love seeing your FOs, especially the older ones. I remember hearing about them previously and seeing them "in action" is cool. I also enjoy seeing your diversity of projects - you knit on all kinds of things, not just shawlettes or socks. You've inspired me to start a log cabin blanket - not for a baby, though - just for me!
    See you next week!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hi Carin, I'm a new spinner and love to see what's on your wheel--very inspiring! Love seeing you each week.

    ReplyDelete
  22. HAHAHA! Love the progress on the Green Phase Socks! ;) Sorry if I was too eager to see those finished!

What's on the needles is my favorite part. I also love all the feedback you give on all your knits and spinning projects. I helps me decide what to queue or knit next! (I see a log cabin in my future).

  23. Happy Anniversary!

My favorite part of watching your podcast is seeing the knitting progress from week to week- I have to admit watching your progress has gotten me off my butt and knitting more because I feel like a slacker :) This is a good thing.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Thank you for the birthday wishes - you're too kind. :)

Your podcast in general is just inspiring. It had to be hard switching from the previous audio podcast you did to a video one, especially considering the circumstances, but I think you manage it very well. You inspired Laura & I to follow in your footsteps, and I hope we can keep up with you!

As for FO's - I think your shipwreck is my favorite thing that I can remember off the top of my head, but your spinning is pretty freaking incredible too.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Happy Anniversary. I can't believe it has been a year. I love being able to seeing your projects whether spinning or knitting. I love the Pheobe shots.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Happy anniversary, Carin! I love your video cast and always look forward to each one. It's great to be able to watch you, to see what you're working on, and to see your FOs - much more enjoyable than audio podcasts. I also appreciate that you don't digress much from fibery matters. I hope we all get to celebrate many more anniversaries with you. Thanks for your hard work. Congrats!

  27. Happy Anniversary.
Love your videocast, don’t change a thing.
Looking forward to the next 50 episodes.

  28. Happy Anniversary!

I just have to say, my favorite part of the podcast is just you being in front of the camera. I was so sad when you stopped filling in during L&V and so happy when you started your own! Each week I'm so happy when the podcast comes up on my blog reader, and then I'm sad after I'm finished watching because that means I have to wait a whole week (!!) for another episode. :D

Favorite part of the podcast are all of your FOs, especially your older ones, and how you just wear them like everyday clothes. Also like the spinning segment. I don't spin, but I'm thinking about getting a wheel in the future.

Keep up the great work, and I hope next year is just as successful for you!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I agree with Laura Beth. after listening to you, it's a treat to see you and your knitting "in person". I was hoping everyone would ask to see your stash or your LYS. I love hearing you dream about a project and then follow you through to finish. Thanks for posting so regularly. it is fun to have you in common with so many lovely knitters

    ReplyDelete
  30. Happy Anniversary!! My favorite thing is your spinning!! It's not only beautiful but inspirational!! I have enjoyed many of your episodes but I do enjoy when you talk about your trips. Keep up the great work!! Love the Log Cabin Blanket too...will have to knit for my baby some day! :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. Happy Anniversary! I really enjoyed seeing all the projects (especially the socks and lace) you have worked on this year. You have motivated me to try a couple of projects.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Love the show!
I've watched since the beginning and enjoy my Thursday morning coffee with you!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Happy anniversary!
I really like seeing the lace (esp the Shipwreck shawl!) and everything you spin. It gets me motivated to do some spinning myself.
As well as the idea of working through the Sock Innovation book. I just finished knitting all of the patterns myself!

  34. It is crazy to think it has already been a year!

I have to say I love how you do these video-casts almost every week. I enjoy waking up in the mornings and just sit knitting while looking at all your wip's, fo's, and what you are spinning.

I do have to say I totally enjoy watching what you spin, how it turns out, and the best part seeing it in the hanks! It makes me want a spinning wheel even more.

I think my favorite FO has to be your aoilen shawl. That came out so beautiful.

I also would love to see more Pheobe spotlights! ;D I always enjoy hearing her in the background.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I love following your projects/progression. Also the reviews of yarns and tools. Although it is bad for my pocketbook! ;-)

    Happy vlogaversary!!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. It's so great to see your projects as they grow and you finish them up--it's so encouraging to me and helps me "up my game" a little bit!

I also respect how you have really kept a weekly schedule of posting the videos. Too many podcasts are sporadic or fizzle out--so hats off to you!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hello! Just the fact that you're doing this weekly video-cast is awesome. I really look forward to it each week. Within the episodes, my favorite parts are watching your sock knitting progress, and seeing your FOs. Your technique and love of knitting really comes through and has inspired me on to new projects more than once. Keep 'em coming! Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I am one of many who enjoy seeing you weekly. Instead of enjoying having morning coffee with you, I join you on my Thursday lunch break. It's become a time during the week I really treasure: like sitting down and talking knitting with a friend. My favorite FO is probably the Shipwreck shawl. I can't envision knitting lace of that size, or beading, and it just looks SO awesome. I also love your spinning segments, mostly because thanks to you and two other podcasts (Stitch It and The Knitmore Girls) I'm heading to my LYS this afternoon to buy a drop spindle. I think it was your Blue Suede Shoes that did me in. Every week I said "I want yarn like that!" (You know, because I don't have enough pretty yarn or something.)
So, just thanks for doing this. I'm another listener who first heard you on L&V, and then was so excited to find you hear. Happy anniversary!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Happy Podiversary! I love the fact that you are here on a regular basis, and that you always have some new insights for the listeners. I'm working through the Sock Innovations book, thanks to you, and have even acquired some Wollmeise because of seeing it so often in your projects. Keep up the good work, here's to another 52 (or more!) episodes!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I always look forward to your videos, they are a great midweek pick me up! I think my favorite FO is the shipwreck shawl. Happy Anniversary and I look forward to another wonderful year of video-casts.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I look forward to every episode. Maybe it's because you are also from the midwest but it feels like you could be my next door neighbor. Please forgive me, I mean this as a huge compliment but your so normal. I just love it.

Showing us what is on your wheel every week has encouraged me to sign up for a beginning spinning class at Wisconsin Sheep & Wool.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Happy anniversary! Thanks Carin, for all the fun I've had watching and being inspired. I especially love your Shipwreck shawl, and other shawls, and all your socks :) Also, I never thought I would be interested in spinning, but found myself wanting to understand what you are talking about and getting interested! I just got a drop spindle and free lesson at the Midwest Fiber & Folk Fair last month and can't believe I am spinning yarn for what I hope will be a great winter hat :)

    ReplyDelete
  43. I'm not going to be the least bit helpful, because I love it all just the way it is. I don't expect to become a spinner, but wouldn't be surprised if one day I start, just because of you. I adore seeing finished objects. I coveted that Shipwreck shawl and thought of doing one myself, then you did yours and I enjoyed it so much! Thanks. Happy anniversary, and I hope for many more.

  44. Happy Anniversary! I have enjoyed every episode, especially when you filmed updates during your travels! Keep up the great work Happy Knitting !

  45. My favorite item you've knitted since I've been watching was the shipwreck shawl - it's fabulous!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Happy Anniversary Carin! Love the travelling woman shawl, I'm a big Dr. Who fan, too! My all time favourite item though is a tie between your Charlotte's Web shawl and your knitting Olympics Ishbel. Thank you for your consistency, it's nice to know there will almost always be an episode every week! Keep up the great work!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I like it ALL! As a new spinner, I am taking a particular interest in your spinning projects. Loved the Blue Suede Shoes you spun.

May I also add that I appreciate it that you keep it "clean." I usually have kids wandering in and out of the room and it is nice that I don't have to worry about what they might hear. :-)

  48. Happy Anniversary!!
I love the show, it is the perfect blend of thing at least for me :)
I love that it has both knitting and spinning as I do both and even fleece processing!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Happy Anniversary, I tripped over your blog around the 5-6 episode and have been here every week since. All your sock knitting has inspired me to tackle my first pair. As well as seeing all you shawls. I cast on for the Traveling Shawl right after you aired it last week.

    Here's to another year!! Slante`

  50. I love the podcast!! My favorite part is seeing your works in progress and how they're coming along. I don't mind that you've been working on the green socks for a while! :) Makes me feel a little less guilty about all the half finished projects I have.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I love seeing all the pretty things you work on and I enjoy hearing about what you have been up to every week.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Happy Anniversary! I am amazed at all the knitting and spinning you get done each week. I started a Traveling Woman Shawl last week but haven't finished it yet. Almost done.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Happy Anniversary.

I love seeing your finished objects! Those inspire me. I also like when you bring out old projects to show us.

    Thanks again!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I love seeing your FOs. That is my most favorite part. When you talked about them on LnV, I always wanted to know what it looked like. Now I get to see them-that is soo cool to me. :D Happy 1 year at podcasting!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I love seeing your progres on various projects from week to week, it's actually really inspiring - but most of all I love the Doctor Who Geeky.

    ReplyDelete
  56. This past year you have inspired me to give the spindle a try. It hasn't sucked me in just yet, but I know that it is coming.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Happy videocast birthday! I started watching when you had come out with four or five episodes and I liked it from the start! I look forward to the new episode every week and I think it's great that you manage that! I love to see your finished objects and what you are working on, both spinning and knitting. And the Estes reports where fab :-) To actually *see* the objects talked about is so nice.
I think that you did absolutely right when you ditched the quilty knit blanket and started the log cabin one instead.

I do hope you keep videocasting for a long long time!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Happy Anniversary!!! Or Podcastiversary...or Videocastiversary...you get the picture. lol

My favorite part about the whole thing is the fact that it's a video. I like "seeing" what you're talking about. Also, seeing the person behind the voice is nice. It's like knit night with my buddies. :D The only thing I might like to see more of is product reviews.

Looking forward to many more episodes of Round the Twist fun!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Happy Anniversary! I love your smiling face and your enthusiasm. I also love that you admit "fails," like the fact that you didn't like the blanket kit as purchased and then made it into the Log Cabin that you love.
I also love when you model your FO's--your Traveling Woman Shawl is gorgeous! I want to make one!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I'm probably weird....but I love when you wear geeky or kntting T-shirts. I adore your Dr. Who shirt! I also like when you wear your knits.

Just keep doing what your doing. I enjoy it as it is. Cheers!

  61. I love your videocast. You are so inspiring. I love your choice of projects and I love your spinning segment. I just got a beginner drop spindle kit and am going to try to teach myself. My goal is eventually to get a wheel. I love to listen to knitting podcasts but to actually see what is being spoken about is great. looking forward to your 2nd year!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  62. My two favorites are the beverage of the podcast (yeah I know, nothing to do with fiber, LOL) and your old FO ... something you bring out that you made a long time ago, like sweaters you're wearing or scarves, shawls. Keep on recording!!!

    ReplyDelete
  63. I love how you've made your podcast longer. Your spinning segment inspired me to get out my wheel and spin more. Recently I was looking for a shawl to knit to wear to my sisters wedding. After seeing your shipwreck shawl I knew exactly what I was going to knit! Looking forward to more episodes :)

    ReplyDelete
  64. Happy Anniversary! I like that you have different projects- knitting, spinning, fiber prep, and it's nice that your parents share your interests. The guest appearances by Phoebe are always fun!

  65. Hi and happy anniversary. Like many others I love seeing what you are working on. Any special yarny vacations/retreats you take are always enjoyed. I also appreciate that you are so regular with your postings. I smile when I see your new post, dump my laptop on my lap and pick up my knitting. I listen to eleventybillion fibre podcasts but the videocasts are something special.

    Keep it coming!!

  66. Hi and Happy Anniversary. I am hooked on podcasts in general and have heard almost everyone. my most favorite things about yours is the length of the podcast, it's the perfect length, some are really too long and wordy, I really love your double parts you do, and that is still not too long. You have a great podcast voice. I love it when you share your adventures with us and the places you find all your great fibre/yarn. You have gotten me hooked on some of the same vendors now. I especially love the video part using U-tube, very nice. Your podcast is now the first one I am sure to listen to when the new one airs. Am also a nurse and dog lover so like the little added details of your life that you share with your listeners. I hope we get to celebrate many more anniversaries with you.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Happy Podcast Anniversary, Carin! I look forward to watching you every week. I like the conversational way you present your knitting, spinning, etc. I really like it when you share your travels to knitting events. Your shipwreck shawl has been my favorite FO. It is just stunning.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I am so glad you do a video podcast. I'm a lone knitter right now so it's so nice to see what your working on and how the things you finish turn out. (I'm also incredibly jealous of your speed in which you finish items.)
So far I'd have to say that my favorite FO is the Ishbel that you completed last Febuary. And my favorite parts of the podcast are all the little reports from the festivals and spring fling that you post. My budget and family restrictions don't allow for me to go to any of those type of events so it's a real treat to see all the wonderous things you show us. Keep up the good work and thank you for sharing your time with us.
    Cheers and Happy Anniversary!

  69. I love the segments about spinning. You've inspired me to start spinning again. Also, for over a year I was in a sock knitting slump but seeing your sock FOs inspired me to pick back up and I realized how much I LOVE knitting socks. I look forward to our weekly virtual knitting sessions.

  70. Happy Anniversary!
I love seeing the works in progress as well as when they become FOs.
I love all of your shawls especially the Shipwreck Shawl.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Happy Anniversary! I love seeing your progress on both your knitting and spinning and then being able to see the finished object. The beautiful yarns you spin makes me want to learn how so badly. :)

    ReplyDelete
  72. Happy Anniversary! I truly enjoy your video podcasts. I have a couple of favorite things. First, I enjoy the fact that you knit and show a variety of projects every week. It's fun to watch and see what you're knitting on next. Secondly, you are a wee bit of an enabler! I'm not sure if it's just seeing your projects or if it's the yarn you select that I just happen to have in my own stash, but there are a couple of patterns I either have knit or am thinking about knitting after seeing what you've accomplished! Thanks for a terrific video podcast.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Happy One-Year-Anniversary! My favorite thing so far is the Log CabinBlanket. I test knit the darn New Traditions Blanket for Knit Picks and wanted to shoot myself! Much better plan for that yarn. Lovely. Oh, and Phoebe. More Phoebe!

  74. Happy blogeversary Karen! Thanks for being so regular in posting. I'm really enjoying watching your progress with Beatrice. Presently a spindler who is enchanted with the Bee you have me hooked.! Liz

  75. Fave episodes definatly the ones from estes.
Favorite FO husfar handspun socks for your friend, I love seeing the handspun being used for socks. Of course all the socks have been great to watch progressing along.

    ReplyDelete
  76. The favorite segment is between either what's on your wheel because I WANT a wheel and I live vicariously through you or your finished object of the week because they inspire me. I've been wanting to knit a Charlotte's Web Shawl forever now and I'm glad you knit up the Traveling woman shawl I was curious about that since I already have the pattern for it. I love the podcast and I enjoy it every week it's my breath of air that keeps me going through the week!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Just a note to let you know how much I like your finished objects segment. Everything you make is beautiful and inspiring. I look forward to each new episode. Happy anniversary!

    ReplyDelete
  78. I have loved everything about this videocast. I love the different segments, mostly whats on your needles of course, but the spinning stuff is amazing. Seeing that has made me want to learn.

I also love the KAL for the socks (even if I havn't done them yet lol) but its been fun to watch those who participate, maybe for shawls that would be fun too.

Anyways Keep up the great work, and heres to another year!

  79. Happy podiversary! My viewing & knitting time is severely limited with an active 19 month old around but I make time for your show every week! I love how down to earth you are. I love hearing about your thought process on different projects . And I love the coffee flavor reveals ;) As long as you enjoy doing this I'll enjoy sharing some time with you each week.

As long as you enjoy doing this I'll make the time to share with you each week. Thanks for letting me get some knitting in even if it is only vicariously!
