Episode 20 - On the Downswing from Holiday Knitting



A sighting of the rare, short-eared, whiny, be-sweatered Phoebe.

On the Needles
-Huggable Hedgehog by Debbie Radtke
-knit on size 10.5 (6.5 mm) and 11 (8 mm) needles
-using Cascade 220 in 4147B (yellow), Plymoth Galway worsted in 154 (orange), and Yarn Bee Tempting Girl in #846/Mindi

-Baby Mine by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee
-STR mediumweight in KMBFLA
-size 4 (3.5 mm)

On the Wheel
-Dyak Craft batt in colorway 101 striped has been spun into singles
-planning to navajo-ply soon

FO of the Week
-Twist & Shout socks
-Holidazed by Anne Hanson
-knit on US 2 (2.75 mm), 2-at-a-time magic loop in the medium size
-used my own handspun 3-ply of Crown Mountain Farms superwash merino in Twist & Shout
-still have ~114 grams left and plan to use it to knit a friend some replacement socks for a pair I gave her that got a hole

Episode 19 - The Wheel Beckons



On the Needles
-Mom's Christmas present

-heels are turned and I'm starting to knit out the gusset

-Going to sit down tonight and spin up that batt from Dyak Craft

-originally released for 2006 Rockin' Sock Club
-knit in STR mediumweight in Fairgrounds (currently unavailable) and Rocktober
-uses US 5 (3.75 mm) and US 2 (2.75 mm)

The Dyeing Arts review (part one)
-4 oz merino/tencel in Shangri La was given to me by Tara for review
-Then I went stash diving and found the Goblin Elbows Blue that I spun up ages ago, two braids of 4 oz superwash merino in Fairy Forest and Peacock, and one 4 oz braid in 100% Australian Wool in Tropical Fruit.
-Part 2 of the review will be about the spinning and part 3 will be the knitting up.

Episode 18 - Snowed In



On the Needles
-Mom's Christmas present
-Nearly done with the first one!!
-Twist & Shout Holidazed socks
-2-at-a-time magic loop on size 2 (2.75 mm)
-Ended up with 533 yards of 3-ply in heavy fingering weight

On the Wheel
-No spinning, but I did hit the sale at Crown Mountain Farms

FOs of the Week
-I went sock drawer diving and came up with 5 pairs of socks to show you.
-Monkey by Cookie A.
-All were knit on size 2 (2.75 mm)
-Colors shown were STR lightweight in Turquoise, Purple Rain, and Seastone. A 2-ply handspun yarn in CMF I've Got You Babe, and Cherry Tree Hill Supersock in Life's a Beach.
-Missing from the parade of Monkey socks was the pair I made out of STR Rockstar.

-lost 5 knitting days due to family commitments around Thanksgiving
-As-Yet-Unnamed Toe-Up sock
-Knit in Conjoined Creations Flat Feet (no color name)
-using Eyelet Swirls pattern from Vogue Knitting Stitchionary Vol. One: Knit and Purl -US size 2 (2.75 mm) needles
-started for class with Deb Barnhill at Sock Summit
