-Socks for Sarah
-stalled while I've been workin on....
-Mom's second Kitri sock
-Between a Lord of the Rings: Extended Edition marathon and a 4-hour mandatory work meeting, I'm done with the cuff, the heel flap and turn, and I'm working my way out the gusset.

Felting!
-The hedgehogs are felted!!
-Still need to dry and I've got to get smaller eyes and noses.

On the Wheel
-Nothing new, but I'm planning to ply the Dyak Craft singles tonight.
-Next up is CMF superwash merino in Atlantis

Currently stalled
-Tangled Yoke...needs the math done
-Aztec Mazes...waiting for cables to come from Knitpicks

The Plan (it sounds sinister so it needs italics)
-I decided not to join the Rockin' Sock Club this year. Instead I've made my own plan!
-Knit through Sock Innovation by Cookie A.
-Plan to use my Wollmeise and Sanguine Gryphon Bugga and Skinny Bugga
-I know I won't finish in a year, but I want to use some of the fabulous yarns I've got in my stash for the amazing patterns in the book.

  1. Love the hedgehogs!
I think your "plan" sounds great - I signed up for the lottery for the Loopy Ewe club but I've never gotten in so I don't have much hope for that. I bought myself a bunch of great sock yarn for my bday is December so I really should start working on that...

  2. Your work looks awesome. Let me share my experience with not joining the BMFA sock club last year. I was a member of the 2008 sock club. I went crazy knitting all the socks! I really learned a lot, but I also put a lot of pressure on myself. In 2009, I decided not to join. I knitted socks of my choice last year. Now, I can pick and choose which colors I want from the 2009 club in 2010, b/c the colors will be out during this year's time. I only liked 3/6 colors, and now I can pick what I want! A win/win! I am also going to knit my way through some of the Cookie A book. Good luck!

  3. I'm doing two sock clubs this year, Knit Love Club and WoolGirl. I haven't knit every pair, yet. I was in the Socktopus Club in 2008 and 2009 (it's now morphed into the Knit Love Club) and I have knit all but one of them (the December kit is OTN, though).

I have alot of Wollmeise, too, and I want to start knitting it up. Oh, yeah, and some of the other sock kits from WoolGirl '08 and '09 that are just taking up space in my craft room!

Good luck with the Cookie A book, I'm sure that you can do it!

  4. I have forgone the two major sock clubs here in NZ Vintage Purls & Needle Food. I love both of their yarns but don't really need more sock yarn right now. I should probably do my own sock club with my existing yarn so am matching patterns with yarn right now.

  5. Love the shows! I have never joined a sockclub but like your idea for 2010. You have inspired me. In 2010 I would like to knit all the socks that I already have flagged in my MANY back issues of Interweave Knits mags.

  6. Yea, I'm Sock Club-less this year too. Mostly from lack of money, but also cause I never knit them when I get them. I was in a bi-monthly club last year and knit ONE pair! I also did the TARDIS club and haven't knit them either! Both of those clubs were a lot of semi-solids so they'll look nice in Cookie A. patterns. We should do a Round the Twist KAL with you!!

  7. I'm sock-club-less, A friend of mine is in the Crown Mountain Fiber's spinning fiber club and that is tempting me, but I am also trying to make this year a little more stash busting and UFO busting, than an acquistion year.

I'm also tempted by the Evenstar Mystery KAL, but I have to finish my Moroccan Day's-Arabian Night's shawl.. from 2008...

  8. Another sock-club less knitter working her way through the stash. Love your you-tube podcast and how you've stayed with it. About the cookie-A book and wollmeise... Will the gauge and colorful-ness of the wollmeise work for the patterns in the book? It seems most of them are better for solids and semi-solids.

  9. I love your plan. However, I must resist the temptation myself. I have bags of yarn waiting to be knitted up into Sweaters that I have collected over the last 2 years. So I am trying to focus on big projects this year-SWEATERS!! Not sure how that will go!! But it is SOOOO hard not to buy more sock yarn. So far... 23 days into 2010.... I have resisted. Good luck with the Cookie A. project!! And I hope you keep up the Video Podcast, I love it.

  10. I also love your plan of working through the Cookie A. book. I have had the book for quite a while (also added the errata) and started the first, "Glynis", this morning in Wollmeise--Old Blue Jeans. My plan is to knit them in order and all in Wollmeise.

Have never been in a Sock Club and was quite disappointed at not getting into The Loopy Ewe club until you talked about "The Plan".

    Love your shows!!!
